KERATIN BONDS

WASHING
  • Wait 48 hrs after installation before your first wash
  • Wash as needed, generally 2x per week. Avoid allowing excessive oil or product buildup at the bonds.
  • Shampoo your scalp gently using your fingertips. Work between the bonds while avoiding large circular motions, twisting, or bunching up the hair.
  • Rinse thoroughly. Product left near the bonds can contribute to buildup, matting and tangling.
  • Apply conditioner and masks from mid-lengths through the ends only. Keep conditioner, oils, and heavy treatments away from the bonds.
DRYING
  • Never go to bed with wet or damp extensions.
  • Gently squeeze excess water from the hair, avoiding aggressive towel rubbing.
  • Apply a light leave in conditioner/detangler mids to ends and gently detangle working from the bottom first.
  • Keratin bonds can safely be air-dried, if desired.
  • If blowdrying, focus on an overall rough dry first to get the majority of the moisture out, especially at the root area, before using any type of round brush.
HEAT + STYLING
  • Always use heat protectant on the lengths.
  • Do not place hot tools direct on the keratin bonds. Keep flat irons, curling irons, and other high heat away from attachment points.
  • Avoid pulling tightly on the extensions when styling. Repeat tension can stress the natural hair.
BRUSHING
  • Brush at least morning and night, and before washing.
  • Use an extension-safe brush. Starting at the bottom and working your way up, while support the hair near the roots with one hand while brushing.
  • Gently brush through the bonds to prevent natural shed from tangling.
  • As your extensions continue to grow out, separate the bonds with your fingers regularly so the neighboring bonds do not begin matting together.
  • For average-thick hair, its recommended to divide into sections to ensure your brush is reaching all the way through each section.
  • Curly hair - if you do not want to brush your curls and restyle everyday, focus on separating the bonds with your fingers. Always fully brush before washing.
SLEEPING
  • Before bed, ensure the hair and bonds are completely dry.
  • Brush thoroughly/pull apart bonds and place hair in a loose braid or low ponytail to reduce frictions and tangling.
  • A silk pillowcase or bonnet is recommended.
SWIMMING + WORKOUTS
  • Secure hair in a braid before swimming. Wet hair with clean water and apply a leave in conditioner before braiding for extra protection.
  • Secure hair for workouts in a braid or ponytail. Be mindful of claw-clips adding tension on bonded areas.
  • After swimming, rinse hair thoroughly and wash when needed. Chlorine, salt water sunscreen, and mineral heavy water can affect extension hair, causing discoloration or dryness.
WHAT’S NORMAL
  • Some individual extension shedding over the course of your wear is normal.
  • Natural shed hairs remain trapped inside each bond until removal, so you may notice shed hair above the attachment point as the extensions grow out.
